The principal, Pat Alexander, a Registered Member of National Back Exchange and is a Chartered Physiotherapist. She leads a highly qualified team of trainers, all of whom have a professional healthcare qualification, and have also taken post-qualification/graduation courses in manual handling and teaching. We provide a service of medico-legal reports in the field of manual handling injuries to both staff and clients, which ensures that our work is current and legally sound. We understand the importance to an organisation of protecting their staff and clients, as well as meeting their legal requirements.

Pat has spoken at the Safe Patient Handling Conference in Florida in 2007 and 2008, and at a similar conference in Melbourne 2008 as well as Sydney in 2010. She has also spoken at most of the major national conferences in the UK for many years.
Being a co-author of both the 4th and 5th edition of the gold standard in manual handling, the Guide to the Handling of Patients (RCN/BackCare 1997), and the Guide to the Handling of People (RCN/BackCare 2005), ensures that our standards are those of nationally recognised bodies, such as National Back Exchange and the Royal College of Nursing. In 2011 the 6th edition was released for which Pat was also a contributing author. She was also an external reviewer of the 2010 publication Moving & Handling People - an illustrated guide. Pat has been involved in writing National Standards for manual handling training with the RCN and CSP. She sits on the UK Steering Group for the Manual Handling Passport Scheme, convened by NHS Employers.
