Train the Trainer in Manual Handling
(five day)
Target Audience
Experienced health/social care staff with the ability to influence others.
Course Information
- The mechanics of joint injury, including cumulative injury will be discussed
- Information on the relevant legislation will introduce the concept of assessment and audit.
- Basic manual handling techniques and the use of small handling aids will be given, and course participants will be introduced to a variety of hoists and slings. They will be taught how to select hoists and slings
- An explanation of the teaching and learning process will be given
- The importance of recording and monitoring at all levels will be stressed, as will the need for management commitment to their work.
- A variety of assessment methods will be used to ensure competence in the field of teaching manual handling skills, and to gain the award as above.
This unregulated qualification has been accredited as a Customised Qualification by NCFE and they have benchmarked the qualification’s learning outcomes and assessment criteria at Level 3 (using a national framework’s level descriptors) to allow us to demonstrate the difficulty and depth of study.
